These F connectors are a commonly used connector in TV signal distribution networks. They allow the coaxial cable to be interfaced to different pieces of equipment. Connectors are the choice of professionals because of the many problems with older crimp connectors. Connectors provide an excellent hold on the coaxial cable once they are installed, making it much harder for the cable and connector to be pulled apart.
